K-1 NEWSLETTER Vol. 2 No.12 Hello out there in Martial Arts land. I hope you all are keeping up on your training Some of these paragraphs were in the October Newsletter and I deam important. If you got the October one please skip over the first Paragraph. Somehow I do not think the October one got out. I had problems with sending E-Mail that month. No longer will I have that problem. I'm still excited about doing this newsletter, this is our one (1) year anniversary for the newsletter. Started out with only a few people and now we are up to 564 newsletters going out each month. K-1 has been on line now for over 1 « years now. We have had more than 30,000 visitors since then and 26,962 from 3/9/97. From 7/3/97 13,343 hits. I have added a lot of new things, such as a Link Exchange banner at the first of the year. This has gotten all of us a lot of exposure. In the middle of the year I added a Martial Arts banner. It does load a little slow, but gives any persons that logs onto K-1 the opportunely to see some different and exciting MA sights. K-1 now averages around 3000 hits a month and averages 35 E-Mail messages a day. At times, you wonder why I do not answer you right away, there is only so much time devoted to K-1 because of other jobs. I wish I could devote all of my time finding out about the way the Martial Arts have developed since recorded history until now. There are so many styles and sub-divisions out there, it would take a person more spare time than he has to follow up on everything. If any one of you wants to get ICQ program from me, please E-Mail me. It is an awesome program. It runs on the front of you screen and lets you know when you have special people on line. Then you can either send them a message or open a chat window just for the two of you. I also has more features that what I have talked about. It is FREE!!!!!!!! Some of you may or may not know, I joined a organization called QStats. The polling is found on the main page at the top. I did this to get a feel on how easy K-1 is to navigate and the second one was to see what people were logging onto K-1 for. Some of the results were interesting. Here they are. First Poll Is Karate One easy to navigate? Yes - 94% No - 2% Somewhat Difficult - 4% Hard - 0% As it stands, I will leave K-1 alone as of now. K-1 is a lot more extensive than I had ever thought. I keep adding thing and never thinking of how much more there is added. There are over 4,100 files with 622 different HTML web paged linked together. Maybe if I get real lucky, I will have over 1,000 by the end of the year. Second Poll - Has not been up that long What service do you use the most on K-1? Clip Art - 44% Check out Dojo's and school listings - 27% Tournament listing and results - 6% Just browsing - 23% I will leave this up another couple of months to see what sections of K-1 I should work on more. If any one of you would like to see a four (4) question Poll, please send me your questions. I will take them under advisement and see if I can work them in. It would be fun to see what questions you would ask about the Martial Arts or related interests. NEW 76 small motif graphics are now for your enjoyment. These are small and can be used for background usage for web pages or just a small graphical insert. K-1 now offers 727 different clip art and graphics for free to all K-1 users. By the end of the year I will probably have close to 1,000. That is a lot for any one who chooses to make a web page, newsletter or any Martial Arts related paper. The Shaolin contest is now done. Here are the questions, results and winners. These were the Rules: The first five (5) contestants to get all of the answers correct will win. Date and time will count.
